Welcome to Historic Stock Market,
the international online-market for historical shares, old stocks, bonds and financial documents.

Old stocks and bonds with an actual value and impossible to negotiate in a stock market are considered historical shares. They document mostly the circulating history of a company, from foundation to insolvency or acquisition. The first stock issued in financial history took place in Amsterdam in 1606 by Vereenigte Oostindische Compagnie (VOC).

OLD STOCKS AND BONDS - COLLECTING

Elaborate printings and limited editions turn old stocks and bonds into a currently valued collection item. The nature of historical shares is different form that of stamps or coins. In relation to stamps and coins, old stocks and bonds are only available in small quantities. The number of collectors from all over the world, who want to enlarge their special collections, is constantly growing.

Special area’s of collector’s interest are for example:

Old stocks and bonds per branch
Old stocks and bonds, autographs
Old stocks and bonds per region
Old stocks and bonds per type of security paper
Old stocks and bonds with elaborate printings
Old stocks and bonds per era
Old stocks and bonds from low capital companies
Old stocks and bonds from big companies

Both collectors and banks or insurance companies, which increasingly decorate their premises with historical shares and financial documents, contribute to the high demand for old stocks and bonds.

OLD STOCKS AND BONDS - COLLECTORS VALUE

The collector’s value of old stocks, bonds and other financial documents is determined by offer and demand. Highly different demands in unique special areas may lead to strong price fluctuation. The collector’s value of an old share is determined by different factors like state of preservation, issued quantity, company name or the current demand for old stocks and bonds.

Therefore the exact collector’s value of a historical share cannot be established with precision. The declaration of value of historical shares in different collectors catalogues should be regarded sceptically, as they are mostly calculated by the editor of the catalogue or by a collector. The same applies to auctions of historical shares with a reduced number of bidders. The result lists arising there from should not be given too much attention, as these are generated by individual collectors from specific collection areas and cannot reflect the market reality

Our price quotations are based on a complicated formula. Among others, the state of preservation of the old share, issuing date, quantity of issued units, brand awareness, original signature, print image and other criteria are relevant to calculate prices. Hereby old stocks and bonds will continue to be affordable at a realistic price.

OLD STOCKS AND BONDS - STATE OF PRESERVATION

Old stocks and bonds have traces of circulation corresponding to their age. Some certificates are not so well preserved and some are very well preserved. Our customers benefit from our high levels of quality. This is confirmed by our customer’s feedback posted in our first class service and through the unusual quality status of our old stocks and bonds.
